About Smotherman & Orms Ancestors
PLEASE SIGN MY GUEST BOOK & LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! ANY SUGGESTIONS,
ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS ARE WELCOME.

This work is a collaboration of many people who are dedicated to preserving
our family history. While there are many documented sources, much is from
second parties, and some is copied from internet files. Use this site only as a
GUIDE! Document your sources follow the clues and find the paper trails. It's
just hearsay without documented sources!

I am currently hunting for REID's in MO, TX, & MS. If you can help--please
email me!

Please look around and if you see anyone who looks familiar, please drop me a
email and maybe we can be cousins! I have about 30 generations and over 2278
different surnames and more than 4500 individual names. The earliest recorded
event is the birth of Randulf Briwere in 1037.

Do you know who your ancestors were?--If you do--SHARE! I love the hunt! Each
name will fleshs out into a person, then a family, then a story.

Genealogy has been my passion since 1983. My oldest Smotherman ancestor was
Samuel Smythiman who was convicted of stealing silver shoe buckles in White
Chapel, England. Samuel was transported to the colonies on the ship H.M.S.
Justitia to serve a seven-year indenture in Virginia, then eloped with the
plantation owner's (and his boss) daughter.

I have been collecting ancestors for over 28 years have found a barber,
pioneers, war heros, blacksmiths, preachers, engineers, moon shiners, Indian
fighters, and a lot of farmers. Just plain regular folks who were looking for a
better life.

Do you know who your ancestors were? Would they know you if they could see you
standing here and would they want to? Everything we do today will affect our
descendants; will your life look good on paper a hundred years down the road?
